Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn on Mistakes

I have a hardcover copy of Gulag Archipelago. Excluding the Bible, I’ve never read a book this long. But I keep hearing I need to read it. Maybe I’ll start over Christmas vacation.

I like his take on mistakes. Check out this quote:

“It is not because the truth is too difficult to see that we make mistakes… we make mistakes because the easiest and most comfortable course for us is to seek insight where it accords with our emotions – especially selfish ones.”
